Lot 403: TOTO CUTUGNO SIGNED. (1943-)

Estimate: £75 - £90 Toto is an Italian singer and songwriter. His L'Italiano, which came out in 1983, became an international hit. Cutugno started off as a drummer. In addition to performing, he helped write several songs for Joe Dassin, including ""Le Jardin du Luxembourg"" and ""Et si tu n'existais pas"". Moreover, Cutugno placed numerous times at the Sanremo Music Festival, winning first prize 1980 for Solo noi. Then, in 1990, he won the Eurovision Song Contest with ?Insieme: 1992?, a song which celebrated European unity. An autograph by Toto Cutugno from 1971.

Franklin was a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, humorist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. Signature cutting of Benjamin Franklin, mounted and professionally framed in a solid wood, gold gilt style frame. Supplied with coa. Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures, 532 of which were completed. Estimate: £40 - £50 An autograph from Henry Fonda who was an American film actor who had 5 decades in the business. He appeared in screen image in such classics as The Ox-Bow Incident, Mister Roberts, and 12 Angry Men. Later, Fonda moved both toward darker epics such as Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West and lighter roles in family comedies such as Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 54th Academy Awards for the movie On Golden Pond, his final film role. Estimate: £100 - £150 A 16x20 inch with black borders limited edition 1/25 full glossy print of Sophia Loren on the set of Operation Crossbow at Emstree Studios in Hertfordshire in 1964. Produced from the original 1960's negative taken by famed photographer Ray Bellasrio. The image has been professionally cleaned. Ray Bellisario was born in 1936 of Italian immigrant parents, the youngest of a family of eleven. His parents eked out a precarious living selling ice cream from a hand cart along the cobbled streets of the Yorkshire mining town of Pontefract. From these humble and and unlikely beginnings came the man who later became internationally known as the "Hammer of The House of Windsor". Ray went on to photograph Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Charlie Chaplin among others. Provenance: Stamped on verso by copyright holder with coa.

Lot 432: BERT STERN (1929-2013) MARILYN MONROE WITH FEATHERS.

Estimate: £1000 - £1500 Marilyn Monroe with Feathers by photographer Bert Stern from the 1962 last sittings of Marilyn Monroe. Image: 13x12.5 inches. Framed in a wooden frame with white pvc coating. There is quite a few chips out of the coating, and scratches. Picture is in very good condtion. Signed and copyright stamped by Bert Stern. Digitally printed in 2007. Edition of 50. Supplied with Bert Stern coa. Bert Stern was one of the leading photographers of the 1950s and 1960s. Like his contemporaries Richard Avedon and Irving Penn, Stern pioneered a new photographic aesthetic, preferring uncluttered and emotionally directimages that strove not only to showcase the human figure but also to capture a sense of the subject’s psychology. Encouraged to pursue photography by Stanley Kubrick, Stern’s reputation quickly grew as he worked for commercial companies such as Revlon. He becamea mainstay for fashion magazines like Vogue, and his portfolio featured such superstars as Twiggy, Truman Capote, and Audrey Hepburn. Stern famously captured Marilyn Monroe in The Last Sitting, the actress’s last group of portraits taken six weeks before herdeath.

Estimate: £600 - £800 Charles Monroe "Sparky" Schulz, was an American cartoonist and creator of the comic strip Peanuts. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists of all time, cited by cartoonists including Jim Davis, Bill Watterson, and Matt Groening. Snoopy his most famous creation has been drawn on card, mounted and framed. Drawn and signed by Charles Schulz, and supplied with coa. The drawing measures 11.5x8.5 inches.

Lot 448: RUDOLPH VALENTINO: BLOOD AND SAND 1922 ORIGINAL WINDOW CARD MOVIE POSTER.

BLOOD & SAND WC '22 stone litho of matador Rudolph Valentino dancing with pretty Lila Lee! An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC measures 13 x 21 INCHES. Blood and Sand, the 1922 Fred Niblo silent south-of-the-border bullfighting matador romantic melodrama (Scenario by June Mathis. From the novel by Vicente Blasco Ibanez and the play by Tom Cushing). Starring Rudolph Valentino (billed as Rodolph Valentino which was his actual name), Lila Lee, Nita Naldi, Rosa Rosanova, Leo White, and Rosita Marstini. Condition Report: fair. The poster had paper loss in the lower right, extending from Valentino's shoulder across to the right border, and straight down to the bottom border. It also had paper loss in Valentino's chin and stains, tears, and tiny bits of paper loss scattered in the rest of the image, with stains and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the card was in poor condition prior to paperbacking. Someone mounted the card onto a heavy board backing and then recreated the missing part of the image at lower right, and only did very slight touch up to the rest of the card (perhaps leaving off some of the trimmed blank borders, because the card now measures 13" x 21"). You can clearly see the above defects and the restoration of the above defects when looking at the card

Estimate: £1500 - £2000 Official RIAA gold 45 record award presented to Dean Martin to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of his pop single, "Everybody Loves Somebody." This original display framed piece comes complete with an RIAA Certified Sales Award plate and measures approximately 13 ½ x 17 ½ inches.

Lot 463: JOHN F KENNEDY (1917-1963).

Estimate: £1000 - £1500 Elected in 1960 as the 35th president of the United States, 43-year-old John F. Kennedy became the youngest man and the first Roman Catholic to hold that office. He was born into one of America’s wealthiest families and parlayed an elite education and a reputation as a military hero into a successful run for Congress in 1946 and for the Senate in 1952. As president, Kennedy confronted mounting Cold War tensions in Cuba, Vietnam and elsewhere. He also led a renewed drive for public service and eventually provided federal support for the growing civil rights movement. His assassination on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, sent shockwaves around the world and turned the all-too-human Kennedy into a larger-than-life heroic figure. To this day, historians continue to rank him among the best-loved presidents in American history. His autograph is mounted, and framed in a wood/laminate antique style frame. Supplied with coa.
