Vectis Auctions

4 Fleck Way, North Yorkshire

About Vectis Auctions Vectis was established in 1988 by Roger and Jill Mazillius on the Isle of Wight. From the humble beginnings of a shop front and back room, Vectis now occupy an auction site of 30,000 sq feet and a staff of 34! Bryan Goodall purchased the company in 1996, with a turnover of £600,000 from eight auctions each year offering some 5,000 lots, things have changed and how! The turnover in 2008 was six million pounds holding over fifty auctions each year, selling around 35,000 lots! The list of toys auctioned by Vectis is endless and we sell the following categories - Diecast, Trains, Doll and Teddy Bears, Lead, Plastic, Militaria, Tinplate, General Toys including Games, Constructional Toys, Railwayana, Books, Comics and Annuals. A full colour catalogue is produced for each auction stating the number of lots, full description of the item, detailing manufacturer, model number (if applicable), colour and condition. An estimated value of the lot is also highlighted, the estimate is based on previous prices achieved through auction. All catalogues can be viewed on our website, both past and present. As expected the arrival of the worldwide web has significantly changed how Vectis run their auctions. Ten years ago there would be one auction per month consisting of around 400 lots, where the room would be full of collectors and dealers. Nowadays we hold five auctions per month with approximately 700 lots each day. All auctions are room sales and all are held live on-line reaching a worldwide clientèle. Bidding can also be made via post, fax or telephone. Here at Vectis we like to pride ourselves on offering a professional, reliable and friendly service. Whether you have a collection of thousands or just the one model we will be only too pleased to offer you a personal service.

Viewback Auctions Omagh

Vintage Craft and Antiques, Tyrone

Viewback Auctions operates mainly in Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland. It specialises in large scale clearances, chiefly of antiques – this type of sale is traditionally conducted on the premises of the vendor. This eliminates the necessity for removal  of articles to the salesroom. It is usually more profitable, as auctions can often be as much about” who owns or owned, the article” as to the nature of the actual item! Viewback also conducts specialist sales, the ceramics sale of Belleek in 2007 allowed Viewback Auctions to become the world record holders for prices attained for both Belleek and Coalisland porcelain. In addition, Viewback publications produced the definitive book on Belleek – ‘Belleek In Context’.The services offered include: online bidding; inventory compilation; probate assessment; insurance evaluation; house and commercial clearances; removals and storage (both locally and internationally); theatrical props hire; set design; demolition; interior design; and, restoration – all at reasonable rates and professionally executed. Viewback (Antiques, Auctions & publications) also offer talks and lectures on aspects of antiques and can undertake commission bidding at all major UK & international events.
